Make Upper Hutt a Fair Trade City!*
Fair Trade makes sure that the growers and producers in the developing world get paid fairly for the products we buy. By becoming a Fair Trade City we can show New Zealand, and the rest of the world, that Upper Hutt cares about making trade fair. Wellington and Dunedin, and Auckland have already done it, we could be next.
By using and promoting Fair Trade in local shops, workplaces, and community groups, Upper Hutt can put itself on the map and become a Fair Trade City. If you want to support the campaign please sign our petition. With your support behind us, we will deliver this petition to the Upper Hutt City council, asking them to meet the requirements of becoming a Fair Trade City.

Welcome to the official website of Fair Trade Upper Hutt! We’re a group of like-minded Upper Hutt citizens promoting Fair Trade in our city.
Our overarching goal is to spread the word of Fair Trade and increase its availability. But we also have another goal, which is to have Upper Hutt officially recognised by Fairtrade Australia & New Zealand as a Fair Trade City.
To get there we need Upper Hutt businesses, schools, churches, cafes, supermarkets, and (most of all) the people of Upper Hutt, to jump on board.
